Anna & Juan’s Pop-up Store in Lucerne

Last Friday we finally opened up our first Pop-up Store. Within three days we transformed the Erfrischungsraum of Hochschule Luzern into a short-term wool shop, small café and workshop area.
We had the opportunity to finally show what we have been doing for the last year. The work was intense but worth the effort.

We placed a small piece of Guerrilla Crochet outside the room…

.. and two thread installations, based on Tina Tomovic’s idea:

Tina is a textile designer who is currently working on souvenirs. She made a lovely series of “Naked Animals”: wooden sheep, llamas and rabbits to be “dressed” again with yarns from repurposed second hand scarves.

We displayed seedlings of three different dye plants, Japanese indigo, madder and hollyhock, grown in old metal cans, and a simplified sequence of the dyeing process:

Besides natural dyeing, knitting and crocheting workshops, we offer knitting instructions, designed and hand-written by Anna Jurt:

The space is furnished with beautiful furniture made by Walter Vintage Möbel. We filled racks and shelves with our naturally dyed wool and wollen products by Cornelia Blümli:

Lucerner ceramist Käthi Amrein made unique pieces exclusively for us:

Katharina Steiner prepared these letter-shaped cookies for the Pop-up store:

Last Thursday, friends, colleagues and public shared a wonderful opening with us on a late summer night:

The catering service was offered by Kostgeberei and die Zuckerbäckerin, both from Lucerne. We had local wine from Toni Ottiger and Luzerner Bier to drink and cheer.
Until Septmeber 16th you will have the chance to visit us in the Old Town of Lucerne, Rössligasse 12.
