Lace Knitting – Beginners – with Simone Ryan

In this course we will start knitting a light weight scarf with a geometric lace pattern together. Simone will teach you all the basics for this pattern and you’ll be able to finish the scarf by yourself at home.

You will learn how to read a knitting chart and how to knit following a knitting pattern. While doing that you’ll learn how to make left or right leaning decreases and how to yarn over.

All mentioned skills are then easily applied to any future knitting charts you come along or even design yourself.

Simone Ryan:
Simone was born and raised in Switzerland. She’s a passionate knitter and newbie knitwear designer, while mainly being a mom to a two-year-old and a student at UZH.

Knitting has been in Simone’s family for a couple of generations and has always fascinated her. Her motivation to start knitting garments, was being able to realize own design ideas and to get away from synthetic materials. Throughout the past year knitting has become a serious passion of hers. She wants to share a part of that evergrowing love for knitting and yarn with you by passing on some of her knowledge.
