Introduction to Colourwork Knitting Workshop – with Charlotte Stone (Stone Knits)

This workshop aims to teach you the fundamentals of colourwork knitting and give you the confidence and skills for you to be able to tackle and successfully knit colourwork projects on your own. Together with Charlotte’s support you will learn various techniques for you to be able to happily knit and create beautiful colourwork projects. You will learn how to put colours together, find out about different yarn types and colourwork, discover techniques for knitting colourwork (English ‘throwing’ style and continental), learn to read colourwork charts, find out about gauge and tension, float management, fixing mistakes and Charlotte’s own personal tips and tricks for knitting colourwork In the round.

During the workshop we will all together start knitting a simple colourwork cowl specifically designed by Charlotte for this workshop, using Anna & Juan’s naturally dyed worsted weight yarn.

After attending this workshop you should have the skills and confidence to happily start knitting colourwork projects on your own.

Charlotte Stone:
Charlotte Stone is the creator behind Stone Knits and is internationally known for her love of knitting whimsical colourwork designs, particularly for colourwork socks. Her designs can be found online on Ravelry and photos of her work on Instagram. Knitting since she was a small child In England with her grandma, she started designing original colourwork patterns in 2017 and has never looked back. Charlotte lives currently with her family in the hills above Zurich and is inspired everyday by the beautiful Swiss scenery.

Homework in advance:
Cast on 108 stitches on size 4 mm needles, join in the round and knit ribbing of K2P2 for 6 rows with your main colour.
