Day Workshop Modern Silk Painting – with Sokina Guillemot

In this intensive workshop you will have the opportunity to benefit from the French textile artist Sokina Guillemot for five hours. You will design a scarf (with finished borders) made of high quality silk measuring 90 x 90 cm, first by drawing, then by painting.

Sokina will provide some very simple drawing patterns, but you can also bring your own ideas. She will guide you in the development of your project. The rich colour palette and Sokina’s way of working will make you look at silk painting in a whole new light.

Sokina Guillemot:
Sokina Guillemot is a French artist, who lives and works in Paris. After her studies at the Duperré School of Applied Arts she travelled and worked for various textile companies. A freelance artist for 15 years, her work is mainly based on textiles, colours and paper. Since 2015 she has been painting silk in a fresh, modern and precise way. She mixes techniques to design her collections. Her projects include silk scraves, backdrops for photo shoots, wallpapers etc. She often collaborates with other brands.

Sokina teaches workshops throughout France and Europe and enjoys sharing her craft with others.
