Magic Toadstool Sock Workshop – mit Charlotte Stone (Stone Knits)

Knitting colourwork on small needles can be initially challenging but very rewarding and will create beautiful results. Colourwork socks are very fun and quick to knit and this workshop aims to give you the confidence to tackle any colourwork sock pattern. Together, with Charlotte’s support, we will all knit the colourwork section of the popular ‘Magic toadstool’ sock pattern designed by Charlotte, including the challenging mushroom section where 3 strands of colour are used at once.

Together we will learn various techniques for you to be able to knit colourwork in small circumferences. We will discuss putting colours together for colourwork, revisit techniques for knitting colourwork (English ‘throwing’ style and continental), learn more about gauge and tension to get your socks to fit well, long floats management, fixing mistakes and Charlotte’s own personal tips and tricks for knitting her own colourwork sock designs.

After attending this workshop you should have the skills and confidence to complete your own pair of ‘Magic Toadstool’ socks and be confident enough to start working on other colourwork knitting patterns which require small needles (e.g., socks and mittens)

Charlotte Stone:
Charlotte Stone ist die Schöpferin von Stone Knits und international bekannt für ihre Liebe zum Stricken von skurrilen Farbdesigns, insbesondere für Colorwork-Socken. Ihre Entwürfe sind online auf Ravelry zu finden und Fotos von ihrer Arbeit an Instagram. Seit sie als Kleinkind in England mit ihrer Grossmutter strickte, begann sie 2017, originelle Farbmuster zu entwerfen und hat nicht mehr damit aufgehört. Charlotte lebt derzeit mit ihrer Familie in den Hügeln über Zürich und lässt sich jeden Tag von der schönen Schweizer Landschaft inspirieren.

Bitte Wolle und Sockennadeln* mitbringen:
Hauptfarbe: Fingering-Weight-Sockengarn (2.25 – 3.25 mm), ca. 50 g
Kontrastfarbe 1 (CC1, für Fersen und Zehen): ca. 20 g
Kontrastfarbe 2 (CC2, Fliegenpilzhut): rot, ca. 10 g
Kontrastfarbe 3 (CC3, Fliegenpilzflecken und Stiel): weiss, ca. 5 g

Nadeln für Stricksocken: Nadelstärke, die Du benötigst, um einfache Socken mit 64 Maschen zu stricken – plus die nächstgrössere Nadelstärke. Beispiel: Falls Du schlichte Socken mit einem Nadelspiel der Stärke 2.25 mm strickst, benötigst Du zusätzlich die Nadelstärke 2.5 mm.

* Nadelspiele können auch vor Ort gekauft werden.
