Embroidery Workshop with Adriana Torres (Miga de Pan):
Dancing Cat in my Garden

An introduction to the world of embroidery in which you will learn basic and advanced stitches: a stitch for drawing figures, a different and original way to couching, a raised stitch that looks woven, a knot triangle shaped, a stitch used by tailors to strengthen joints and a lace to finish the work with a simple and delicate look. Using these stitches we will embroider Adriana Torres‚ illustration “Dancing Cat in my Garden”.

This workshop is aimed at beginners and even embroiderers with intermediate skills who would like to learn the use of mere appearance stitches in a creative way. We’ll learn to combine different thicknesses and numbers of strands according to each stitch. This way of working gives to the embroidery an aesthetic rich in textures and an aspect of blunt simplicity, which is the style that characterizes the work of Adriana.

We are thrilled that Adriana Torres aka Miga de Pan will be joining us in September and providing us with a rare and incredible chance to get a glimpse of her design philosophy, exquisite techniques and extraordinary embroidery. Adriana is coming all the way from Buenos Aires and we can’t wait!
