DESCRIPTION:The creative textile process often begins with the choice of ya
 rn. But what if we could already design the yarn ourselves? \n\nIn this wo
 rkshop you will learn how to spin a thread from wool fibres with a hand sp
 indle. To start with\, we will use wool from Graubünden Oberland sheep fr
 om the local Fibershed (Zurich Oberland). \n\nBetween the spinning exercis
 es we will look at the whole way from fibre to yarn: Washing raw wool\, th
 e different fibre preparations and different types of spindles.\n\nAt the 
 end we will twist the threads into a first yarn.  \n\nYou can take the sim
 ple hand spindle and a selection of carded fleece and combed yarns home to
