DESCRIPTION:Macramé is a textile technique that consists of knotting cords
  together to make a wide range of objects: from wall decor\, lamps and rug
 s\, to bags\, belts and bracelets. Although it became very popular in the 
 70’s\, it has a much longer tradition and has been known for centuries i
 n many different places all around the world. \n\nDuring this 3-hour class
  Dörte will show you the basics of this amazing technique and how to make
  a large table wreath or two smaller ones. Depending on the occasion\, the
  wreath can be decorated Eastery\, autumnally\, Christmassy or otherwise a

 esigner and the founder of California Dreaming\, a Berlin based macramé d
 esign studio dedicated to reviving traditional macramé techniques and sty
 les in modern homes.\n\nEstablished in 2013\, the label has experimented a
 nd produced a range of designs from ‘ready-to-hang’ macramé models av
 ailable online and in retail stores\, in addition to larger commissioned w
 orks for clients in galleries\, restaurants and trade show environments. H
 aving been truly inspired firsthand by spectacular interiors witnessed thr
 oughout a road-trip along the West Coast of America\, back in Germany\, Bu
 ndt located and salvaged old instructional material\, dead-stock rope\, an
 d taught herself basic macramé design principles to launch the first prod
 uct range of California Dreaming. The catalog has grown substantially in t
 he following years\, accommodating designs of far more complexity and purp
 ose (baby-swings\, marriage-altars\, room dividers) and allowed for Bundt 
 to develop her own trademark knots and decorative flourishes to the classi
 c\, timeless macramé traditions. \n\nAs she prepares to unveil a series o
 f new designs\, Dörte Bundt brings an exciting afternoon workshop to Anna
  & Juan for exploring and partaking in the ancient yet modern macramé cra
