 Dorota Majzer
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to take your crochet to the next level? This work
 shop is a great opportunity to learn some advanced techniques by making yo
 ur own fashion accessory: a brooch (which can alternatively be turned into
  a pendant\, or appliqué: the possibilities are endless!). You will end u
 p with a beautifully structural piece of crochet lace\, made with merceris
 ed cotton thread. You can keep it for yourself and make more as gifts for 
 your friends\, as you will take the pattern home.\n\nYou will learn some m
 ore complex techniques\, like:\n- front- and back-post stitches\n- cluster
 s of stitches\n\nYou will learn to read the written and graphic (chart) in
 structions for crochet.\nWe will also cover the finishing of your piece\, 
 including steam blocking of the motif\, which will bring out the stitch de
 finition.\n\nThe workshop is lead in a relaxed atmosphere\, and the partic
 ipants are encouraged to work at a pace that is comfortable for them.\n\nD
 orota Majzer:\nDot first picked up the crochet hook almost 9 years ago\, a
 nd she’s hardly put it down since. She began by making crochet toys\, an
 d then quickly started exploring the endless possibilities of this wonderf
 ul craft. Her crochet comes in all formats: from big festival costumes\, t
 o filigree jewellery and other accessories\, made with the finest threads 
 and smallest crochet hooks. She has also attempted to bring crochet and sc
 ience together\, in research project exploring the use of crochet and knit
 ting in making artificial muscles for soft robotics. When living in Irelan
 d\, she was a member of the Guild of Irish Lacemakers\, and explored the d
 eep roots of various traditional lace and embroidery techniques. When not
